Looking for the best hotels in Sunny Beach?
I work the Sunny Beach season, which means I spend a lot of time fielding the same question from guests: “Which hotel should we have booked?” Usually it’s too late by then – they’re already somewhere that doesn’t suit them. So here’s the guide I wish people read before they booked.
Sunny Beach has hundreds of hotels, and they are not interchangeable. The 8-kilometre strip runs from full-throttle party zones to quiet beachfront resorts where the loudest thing is the sea. Booking the wrong one is how you end up with a romantic couples’ break next door to a foam party, or a family holiday on a strip built for stag dos.
This list covers ten hotels I’d actually stand behind – split into the best for families and the best for adults and couples – with honest notes on who each one suits. All ratings are real guest scores from Booking; I’ve used the exact hotel names so you can find them without ending up at the wrong property.
One booking tip: Sunny Beach all-inclusive deals booked by February are routinely 30–40% cheaper than June prices. The good hotels sell out. Book early.

Best hotels in Sunny Beach for families
Dreams Sunny Beach Resort and Spa
If budget allows, this is my top family pick. A 5-star beachfront resort with five pools, private beach access, and premium all-inclusive – the kind of place where kids disappear happily for hours and parents actually relax. Guest rating sits around 8.6. It’s south of the core strip near Sveti Vlas, so you get the beachfront without the late-night noise.
Best for: families who want upscale, multigenerational trips, anyone who wants the beach on their doorstep without the party.
Meliá Sunny Beach
A large, well-run all-inclusive resort within 80 metres of the sandy beach – about as central and convenient as it gets while still being a proper family resort. Guest rating around 8.9, one of the highest on this list. You might know it as the former Iberostar Sunny Beach; it rebranded to Meliá but kept the strong reputation.
Best for: families and couples who want central convenience, easy beach access, and a reliable big-resort experience.
Aqua Nevis Hotel & Aqua Park
The clearest pick for families with kids who want entertainment on site, because it has its own aqua park. No need to leave the hotel – the water slides are right there. It’s about 750 m from the centre and under a kilometre from the beach, with a guest rating around 8.5 and all-inclusive board.
Best for: families with children who’d happily never see the beach because the aquapark is more fun anyway.
DIT Majestic Beach Resort
A big, full-service 4-star resort right by the sea – about 200 m from the nearest beach, steps from the Black Sea, with rooms looking out over park or sea. Guest rating around 8.9, which for a resort this size tells you it’s consistently run. It’s one of the best-known family resorts on the strip.
Best for: families and couples wanting a large, full-service resort with everything on site.
Hotel Laguna Park & Aqua Club
A central 4-star with its own Aqua Club, two restaurants, and a position about 250–350 m from the beach. Guest rating around 8.5. The central location is the draw – you’re close to everything, with water facilities for the kids on site. (Note the exact name: it’s Laguna Park & Aqua Club, not “Laguna Beach.”)
Best for: families who want a central base with water facilities and easy access to the strip’s amenities.
Sentido Bellevue Beach
A beachfront 4-star with a quieter, beach-focused feel – seasonal outdoor pool, fitness area, and direct beach access, all-inclusive. It sits a little away from the busiest part of the strip, which is exactly why I’d recommend it to families who want the beach without the bustle.
Best for: families and beach lovers who want easy beachfront access and a calmer atmosphere.
DIT Evrika Beach Club Hotel
A consistently well-regarded family beach resort, regularly among the top-rated 4-star properties in Sunny Beach. It’s a reliable, proven choice – the kind of hotel that doesn’t surprise you, in the good way.
Best for: families wanting a dependable, well-reviewed beach club resort.

Best adults-only & couples hotels in Sunny Beach
Secrets Sunny Beach Resort and Spa (Adults Only)
The premium adults-only choice. A 5-star resort with spa, premium all-inclusive, and an excellent location on Sveti Vlas street – away from the family crowds and the party strip both. This is where I’d send a couple wanting Sunny Beach without the chaos. (It’s the “Secret” hotel people mean — the full name is Secrets Sunny Beach.)
Best for: couples and adults wanting a higher-end, quieter, spa-focused stay.
PERLA TUI SUNEO (Adults Only)
A 4-star adults-only all-inclusive, guests 16+, with a seasonal outdoor pool, fitness centre, garden and a calmer atmosphere. It’s the mid-range adults-only pick – good value for couples or groups of adults who want all-inclusive without the family-resort soundtrack. (Listed on Booking as PERLA TUI SUNEO or Hotel PERLA SUNEO Club – “Sunneo Perla” is just shorthand.)
Best for: adults wanting a calmer, well-priced all-inclusive base.
Sunny Beach Club (Adults Only)
An adults-only property with a youthful, lively vibe, guest rating around 8.3. It’s about 2.9 km from the centre with the nearest beach roughly 300 m away – a good fit for couples and groups of adults who want adults-only without going fully quiet.
Best for: couples and adult groups who want an adults-only base with a bit of energy.

How to choose the right Sunny Beach hotel

A few honest rules from someone who works here:
Location is everything. The central strip is loud after dark. If you’re a family or a couple after a quiet break, look at the northern end, the Sveti Vlas side, or the beachfront resorts that sit slightly away from the bars. Dreams, Secrets and Bellevue all do this well.
Aquaparks sell themselves to kids. If you’ve got children, a hotel with its own water park (Aqua Nevis, Laguna Park) can make the whole holiday – they’ll be entertained without you spending a lev extra.
Adults-only means adults-only. If you want a child-free holiday, book a genuinely adults-only hotel (Secrets, Perla, Sunny Beach Club). Don’t rely on a “quiet” family hotel – Sunny Beach in August is never that quiet.
Book early for all-inclusive. The best-value all-inclusive deals go months ahead. February booking beats June booking by a wide margin.
